Khayelihle Children’s Village - KCV

 children-of-zimbabwe.jpg

KCV is a Church of Christ that began only late last year in Zimbabwe as a result of their ministry to children affected by the horrendous politcial situation there.  Many of the children at KCV are orphans. Others are abandoned or neglected because of great economic hardships or because of AIDS related illnesses affecting families.

Currently 70 children live at the farm, where they also receive an education; and the church has an average attendance of 150 people each Sunday.

KCV is our current fundraising project. The money we raise will help them to buy cows and chickens for their farm.

You can read more about this ministry in the April 2008 edition of Global Mission and at the website of Global Mission Partners: www.gmp.org.org.au/Zimbabwe_2008.html

Insight Ministries

Our first project for 2008 was to help raise funds for Insight Ministries. This ministry (which was previously known as Gosford High Schools Christian Ministries) employs young Christian adults to be counsellors and Christian educators in local high schools. At the moment they have Christian workers in Henry Kendall High, Lisarow High and Narara Valley High. They also hope to be involved in Gosford High School this year.

This is an incredibly valuable and effective outreach ministry to our local young people.

The money we raised will help cover the costs of resource material, wages and administration expenses.

This mission focus ran until the end of April, however you may still choose to collect change in the Insight tins.

If your Insight collection tin is full, or you would like an extra one, please see Margaret Mowczko.
